Jordan Valdmanis

Owner & Operator

Jordan has owned and operated Old Mission Associates in Northern Michigan since 2004. With over 15 years of experience in the lawn and landscape industry, he strives for excellence within the company and throughout the community. As a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Landscape and Nursery Management, he has extensive knowledge of lawn care, landscape construction and business management. After graduation, Jordan continued to stay connected to the program through teaching at the MSU extension in Traverse City and welcoming interns from the program into the company every summer. The strength of OMA has been built by all the dedicated team members that have been with us over the years. When not working, Jordan enjoys spending time on the ice rink with his son Andrei, boating and golfing.

Zach Wood-Sternburgh

Lawn and Landscape Manager

Heading up the Lawn & Landscape Management division, Zach has been with Old Mission Associates since 2009. He is a certified pesticide applicator and has over a decade of experience in the landscape industry. His positive attitude and his attention to detail has made him an ideal member of the Old Mission team. Zach loves to spend time with his wife and two daughters and enjoy the beauty of Northern Michigan.

Andy Clapham

Lead Designer

Andy is Old Mission Associates Lead Landscape Designer. He received his Bachelor‘s Degree in Landscape Design from Michigan State University and his Master’s Degree in Business from William & Mary. His education and experience in design make him a well-rounded member of the OMA team. Andy enjoys creating landscapes that focus on bringing out the best in all four of the beautiful seasons we get in Northern Michigan, as each one holds unique design possibilities.

David Erdman

Landscape Foreman

David joined Old Mission Associates in 2012 after graduating from the Michigan State Horticulture program. He is a Foreman for the company and leads installation projects ranging from brick paver patios to shoreline protection projects. He has delivered countless projects that have exceeded the expectations of our clients. David excels in the training of new and seasonal employees to ensure safety and detail-oriented production on site. David enjoys hunting, fishing and just about anything to do with the outdoors when not leading landscape projects at OMA.

Josh Ruggirello

Landscape Foreman

Josh joined OMA in 2012 after graduating from the Michigan State Horticulture program. He is a Foreman for the company and has worked in the industry since 2004. Josh leads the most intricate of projects that our designers create for installation. He can truly turn a design into a masterpiece. When Josh is not working, you will most likely find him working on projects at his own house.

Dakota Norris

Landscape Foreman

Dakota is one of our Landscape Foreman and joined OMA in 2019. He came to us with a decade of landscape installation experience. Dakota has a unique ability to turn a complex landscape design into a reality. He is a native of the Grand Traverse area and loves the outdoors.

Parker Booth

Landscape Maintenance Foreman

Parker has a Forestry degree from Michigan State University and has over a decade of experience in the landscape industry. He is responsible for managing and training maintenance crews. Parker is a certified pesticide applicator and seeks to enhance his knowledge of the industry through continued education. Parker is passionate about music and enjoys racing sailboats with his family.

Jordan Maeder

Landscape Crew Leader

Jordan has been with Old Mission Associates since 2016. He is a graduate of Lake Superior State University with a BA in Fisheries and Wildlife. Jordan leads many of the projects that not many can find a solution for. From beach grooming, to drainage projects, he helps take care of all our clients requests. When not at work, he loves spending time with his wife and two boys, hunting, fishing, trapping, and being outdoors.

Dan Worm

Landscape Crew Leader

Dan began working at OMA in 2016. He was born and raised in the Grand Traverse Area. He quickly made is way up in the company as an Installation Crew Leader due to his hard work and attention to detail. Dan is an avid outdoorsman and loves the hunt and fish.

Zachary Fisher

Landscape Crew Leader

Zach joined OMA in 2018. He leads one of the landscape maintenance crews. His positive attitude, attention to detail and passion for the industry have allowed him to progress in the company quickly. Zach loves discovering new music, hikes with his wife and new puppy, and just being outside in beautiful Northern Michigan.
